| Jeffrey (Joe Hollis' son) went hiking with me this last weekend. He took me to this fire watch tower, which we had to hike up to and had an amazing view. |
 |
| View from the fire tower. It was cloudy but breath taking seeing in in real life. |
 |
| Picture from a different hike from Mount Mitchel (highest mountain east of the Mississippi). It was beautiful and covered in moss and ferns. |
 |
| My favorite waterfall spot right now. You can climb up it. |

This weekend I am going to the
Fire Fly Gathering, which is about an hour away tt link and see a list of classes they are offering. I am excited, a kind WWOOFer taking me. I am anxious to te the class titled "The Art & Science of Trespassing" the breif description is: "How to enjoy nature without any trouble." There are so many classes it is going to be hard to choose..... I also want to take "Cherokee Rivercane Blowgun Darts: Making Darts for the traditional handmade rivercane blowgun. Used by Cherokee for hunting small game."
How will I ever choose?
Joe Hollis is knowledgable about much, but down to earth and humble. He just likes living simply so he can spend all his time growing plants. He is pretty quite and likes to stick around his house more than leaving, but somehow opens his land up to any one passing by (if they can find him). He has a funny dry sense of humor which i like. "This is ______, a minor chinese medicinal herb which I grew for one year and have spend the next ten years trying to get out of my beds." He loves to dance to live music, and I think everyone equally likes to watch him. I have never seen anyone move like him. He almost floats about the dance floors and moves his arms in all these various spiral circles. It is mysterious.
We still have about 10ish people around the land right now. It is nice to have so many people to share cooking and cleaning. It is funny though living with so many different personalities, tensions definalty rise between people at times. Sonny has also been some origin of conflict, but he is doing better.
Last Friday another WWOOFer took me to work-trade for some food to bring back to out farm. It was nice to work at another farm, so relaxing. So between the food I traded for and a guy named Rob wild crafted like 20lb. of chicken of the woods mushrooms, I have not been as hungry this week. Also, a WWOOFer Keenan has been feeding me also and they have their own grass-fed beef and eggs. yum.
love you Amy!!!! it looks beautiful there! hope to catch you on the phone soon :)
