Bridgton, ME

Now everyone is up to date. I am currently here in Bridgton, Maine. I am leaving this farm in a few hours to go to a primitive skills gathering south of here.

Karen does wildlife animal reabilitation, so there are lots of critters around. She also does fiber arts and she taught me to spin and knit!

It is very pretty and green here in Maine and everyday I could I swam in a near by "pond" (a pond in Maine is big enough for boats). It was spring fed and beautifully clear. In the evening it had picturesque sunsets with the mountains in the background. Unfortunately I did not get any photos of Woods Pond.

I also got to have Irish black and white pudding... which is concealed blood sausage. It was very good.

Vermont crossing into NH. I enjoy bridges

Karen taught me to spin wool. Here are my first two bobbins.

And... my ball of yarn. so exciting

Glimpse of a part of a lake from a mountain I hiked.

We groomed the angoras for their fiber.

I got to keep the matted parts for felting.

"the good stuff" for spinning

The first hat I made. It was too small.

This deer has amputated legs and Sonny really liked to lick him all over... especially in the ears.  Sonny kept bouncing at him trying to get him to chase.

Scenic overlook. Valley in NH

Sweet Mazie

Karen's monkey Mookie. He sleeps with her at night.

If you take anything from Karen's hand he goes crazy like you stole it from her. Even if she handed it to you. So she had to lay the food down on the table for me to feed him.

Lazarous

The Alpaca's. Used for fiber

Cool polish chickens here

Heather the beautiful Pasofino

Thanksgiving dinner
Angora Rabbit

These angora baby bunnies doubled in size since I have been here. They are so soft.

Karen's house

Ginny hens stick near the road... but somehow never cross it.

Coolest cat ever.

The beret I knit!

thank you white angora for you fiber!

In and around the Adirondack Mountains

After Long Island I headed off the Adirondack Mountains. I stayed at Lake George for a few days. It was my first clear lake to see with my eyes. I had no idea how beautifully clean and clear lakes could be. Then on to Lake Placid then to Antwerp, NY... to be a Shepard.

These next photos are of the "high peaks" area near Lake Placid. I camped out right near here.

I wish my camera was able to pick up the brilliant colors.

Olympic Ski Jumps in distance. Lake Placid is home of the 1932 and 1982 winter olymics.

I only stayed at this farm for 24 hours. So consequentially I only have these lamb photos from Antwerp.

These twin baby lambs are about 10 hours old.

I got to take the quills from this road kill porcupine. Some birds had already pulled out his innards.

Per Mom's request. She wanted to see my moccasins I made. This is AFTER I have been working on farms and hiking in them for a month.

Sonny the service dog... need I say more.
